February Friends Fund Challenge
Are you a former Terrier? Did being a student-athlete make you the person you are today? If so, pay it forward by supporting your team today through the February Friends Fund Challenge!
All BU Athletics alumni are currently being asked to invest in their former teams through the February Friends Fund Challenge, a participation-based challenge sponsored by alumnus Dennis J. McNichol (SMG '82) which consists of $10,000 in cash prizes for BU's varsity athletic programs. Mr. McNichol is challenging all former Terriers to give back to their teams during this one-month initiative.
"Dennis McNichol has been and continues to be a tremendous supporter of our athletic programs," said Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Mike Lynch. "These participation challenges have proven to be successful in recent years and our loyal alumni have responded. Their support allows us to provide the best possible experience for our student-athletes here on campus, so at the end of the day every team benefits. We are extremely grateful to both Dennis McNichol and all of our former Terriers."
"This year's challenge has multiple prizes so every team can win something," said McNichol. "As alumni, our investments help our teams succeed. Personally, I give because I want to see us win. I want every team to win their conference and advance to the NCAA tournament. This challenge is a fun and competitive way for all our current and former student-athletes to be part of that success."
The challenge will run from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28 at 11:59 p.m. Any gift, of any amount, will count towards your team's chances of winning. One dollar from you could mean thousands to your team. The winning teams will be announced in early March. Act now and show your Terrier Pride by supporting tomorrow's leaders today!
