CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Junior Emily Tillo of the Boston University golf team was named Patriot League Golfer of the Month, as announced by the conference on Thursday.
Tillo had a terrific September, highlighted by her wire-to-wire victory at the Dartmouth Invitational. She fired a two-under 70 in the opening round and finished with a final-round 74 to clear the field by three strokes. It was Tillo's first collegiate victory. She also played in the 54-hole Yale Intercollegiate and battled back from an opening-day 84 to go 76-73 in the final two rounds. Her 73 on Sunday was the low round of the day.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Tillo finished the month with an average score of 75.40. She was also the Patriot League Golfer of the Month last September and is the reigning Patriot League Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
BU will be back on the course this weekend at the Diane Thomason Invitational at the University of Iowa.
