After anchoring the men’s hockey team to a weekend sweep in a pair of close games against two Big Ten rivals at Agganis Arena, Matt O’Connor of the men’s ice hockey team has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

The junior netminder picked up his first career shutout with a 29-save performance in a 1-0 victory Friday night over Michigan State. He then stopped 38 shots Saturday to backstop the Terriers to a 3-2 victory over No. 14 Michigan.

For his efforts, he was also named the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week.
