Three current Boston University women's ice hockey players and two recent alumnae will represent Canada at the 2015 Nations Cup, held Jan. 3-6, 2015 at the BLZ Arena in Füssen, Germany.
Freshman Victoria Bach, senior Shannon Doyle and junior Sarah Lefort will join 2014 graduates Kaleigh Fratkin and Louise Warren on the 22-player roster. This is Lefort's second straight Nations Cup appearance, as she won gold with Canada at the 2013 event.
The three current Terriers have each been outstanding for BU through the first semester. Lefort leads the club in goals (13), assists (12) and points (25) while Bach is the top rookie goal scorer in the league with nine markers. Doyle has led a strong defensive corps, blocking 42 shots and adding two goals and 10 assists for 12 points.
Fratkin and Warren have each skated in the CWHL this season, with Fratkin playing for the Boston Blades and Warren donning a Calgary Inferno sweater. Warren has one goal and three assists for four points while Fratkin has collected three points (1g, 2a).
The Nations Cup, formerly known as the Air Canada Cup, MLP Cup and Meco Cup, brings together Canada’s National Women’s Development Team and national teams from Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland for a four-day international tournament.
