WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Junior Sarah Lefort of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Lefort was instrumental in the Terriers' 4-1 victory at Vermont on Dec. 6, scoring two goals, including a shorthanded strike in the third period. Both of her markers were unassisted as she bookended the scoring for BU. It was her third straight multi-point game and extended her point streak to six games.
The Ormstown, Quebec, native also earned this award from the league on Nov. 24. She enters the break with 13 goals and 12 assists for a team-leading 25 points. Her team-best 13 tallies match her output at this point last season; Lefort went on to score an NCAA-best 32 goals.
