
Men's Tennis Triumphs at Colgate, 5-2

VERONA, N.Y. - Competing in its second conference match of the dual season, the Boston University men's tennis team claimed a 5-2 victory at Colgate on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Terriers improve to 5-5 (2-0 PL), while the Raiders fall to 4-3 (0-1 PL).
Colgate swept through doubles to claim the first point, but the Terriers dominated in singles action with five wins, including three in straight sets, to pull out the team victory.
Senior Chanon Varapongsittikul led the way in the top singles slot with a 7-5, 7-6(3) victory. Freshmen Mario Sandoval (#4) and Jay Leelavanich (#5) won comfortably in straight sets with Leelavanich dropping just two games.
Sophomore Stefan Lemire was edged in a first-set tiebreaker but eventually rolled to a 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles. Senior Jesse Frieder pulled out the other three-set match, winning 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 3.
The Terriers will remain on the road and next visit Brown on Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m.
