
Men's Tennis Blanks Holy Cross on Senior Day

BOSTON - After recognizing seniors Chanon Varapongsittikul and Jesse Frieder, the Boston University men's tennis coasted to a 7-0 win over Holy Cross at the BU Track and Tennis Center. With their fourth sweep of the season, the Terriers improve to 6-8 and 3-0 in Patriot League action, while the Crusaders fall to 2-8 (0-4 PL).
BU won the three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-5 and then captured all six singles points in straight sets.
Varapongsittikul and Frieder teamed together for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles and followed with identical 6-1, 6-0 victories in the top two singles slots.
Junior Emilio Teran (#3) and freshman Lucas Bombonatti (#4) both dropped just one game in their respective singles matches, while freshman Jake De Vries blanked his opponent at No. 5.
Sophomore Brandon Phan captured the final point at No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-3.
The Terriers will next visit Hartford on Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m.
