
Terriers Compete at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – The Boston University women’s track & field team competed at the second day of the prestigious Penn Relays on Friday at Franklin Field.
Senior Allison Barwise placed second in the high jump championship with a mark of 1.84 meters. Classmate Nikko Brady continued her strong showing at the Penn Relays with a season-best time of 13.84 seconds in the 100m hurdles, good for a top-20 finish. Junior Tessa Runels turned in a top-20 performance in the triple jump with a leap of 11.72 meters.
The 4x100m relay team of senior Hannah Wiley, sophomore Christy Wood, Brady and junior Gemma Acheampong nearly set a new school record with a time of 45.99 seconds to finish fourth in the ECAC section. Acheampong had the 10th fastest 100m dash time at 12.20 seconds and the Terriers turned in a time of 59.69 seconds to finish ninth in the shuttle hurdles championship.
BU will conclude its week at the Penn Relays on Saturday in the ECAC section of the 4x400m relay.
