CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After helping lead the Boston University men's tennis team to the Patriot League tournament semifinals, senior co-captain Chanon Varapongsittikul has received All-Conference Second Team accolades, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Varapongsittikul collected 10 singles wins on the year, including six at the No. 1 slot during the dual season. Highlights included victories over the top players from Connecticut, Colgate and Lafayette.
In doubles, he recorded 12 wins and went 7-10 at the top slot with classmate Jesse Frieder. They defeated the top duo from PL champion Army and also recorded a victory against then-No. 24 Harvard.
Varapongsittikul's award marks the fourth straight year that at least one member of the team has received an All-Conference honor.
