WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After a four-point night at Wisconsin, freshman Jack Eichel of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been selected as the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
In BU's 6-1 victory at Wisconsin on Saturday, Eichel tallied two goals and two assists to help the Terriers improve to 12-3-4 overall and 3-0-1 against Big Ten teams.
After the Badgers struck first, Eichel tied up the game with his ninth goal of the season and had a hand in four of BU's first five goals.
With his performance, Eichel now has a nation-best 31 points (10g, 21a) on the year and is tied for the nation lead in assists.
This marks the fourth weekly honor Eichel has received from Hockey East this season, as he has earned the rookie award three times in addition to being named Player of the Week on Nov. 24.
