Terriers Compete at ITA Regionals, Tufts Invitational

BOSTON - Five members of the Boston University men's tennis team competed at the ITA Northeast Regionals hosted by Yale and then joined their teammates over the weekend at the Tufts Invitational.
Junior Jay Leelavanich claimed a singles win at both events to lead the Terriers. He first defeated Quinnipiac's Willem van Biezen in the singles qualifying draw at the ITAs before being eliminated in the final round by Harvard's Kelvin Lam. He bounced back at Tufts with a 6-2, 5-7, 10-7 victory over Lam's teammate, Xavier Gonzalez.
As a team, BU finished strong on Sunday at Tufts by winning six singles matches and collecting three doubles victories.
The Terriers will next compete at the Bryant Invitational on Oct. 31 - Nov. 1.
