As the National Hockey League nears the quarter mark of its 2015-16 season, former Terriers in the ranks continue to perform well.
All former Terriers skating in the NHL have at least one point, as Adam Clendening’s assist for Pittsburgh during a 4-1 win over Minnesota gave him his first point of the season.
John Hynes has led the New Jersey Devils to a surprising 10-7-1 record, which puts them fourth in the Metropolitan division.
Since returning to the St. Louis Blues lineup after missing 10 games due to injury, Kevin Shattenkirk has recorded one goal and three assists and went over the 200-point plateau with an assist earlier this week.
Nick Bonino (PIT)
• Has 18 takeaways through 17 games played and leads Pittsburgh with an overall turnover ratio of +13
• Missed Pittsburgh’s game against Minnesota on 11/17 due to illness
Alex Chiasson (OTT)
• Only has one giveaway on the season, and his turnover ratio of +6 leads the Senators and puts him 32nd overall in the NHL
• Averaging 21.9 shifts per game
Adam Clendening (PIT)
• Skated in his second game of the season and recorded his first point of the year with an assist in Pittsburgh’s 4-1 win over Minnesota on 11/17
Charlie Coyle (MIN)
• Assisted on Marco Scandella’s game-tying goal against Dallas in an eventual 3-2 overtime loss on 11/14
• Registered another assist in a 4-3 loss at Pittsburgh on 11/17
Jack Eichel (BUF)
• His 61 shots on goal is first amongst NHL rookies and first on the Sabres, and his 24.1 shifts per game is tops for NHL rookies as well
Eric Gryba (EDM)
• Registered his third point of the season with an assist in Edmonton’s 4-3 loss to Los Angeles on 11/14
• Has 36 hits and 35 blocks through 18 games, which place him first and second, respectively, for Edmonton L
Matt Nieto (SJS)
• Scored his third goal of the season in San Jose’s 3-2 win over Detroit on 11/13
• Recorded three shots on goal and saw 42 seconds on the penalty kill during the Sharks’ 3-2 win over Buffalo on 11/14
Kevin Shattenkirk (STL)
• Recorded his 200th career point with an assist in St. Louis’ 4-2 loss to Chicago on 11/14
• Tallied his first goal of the season on 11/17 against Columbus
• Had his first multi-point game of the season with two assists, including one on the game-winner, in the Blues’ 3-2 win over the Jets on 11/16
Brian Strait (NYI)
• Averaging 15:56 of ice time and 20.3 shifts per game
• Has five takeaways on the season
Colin Wilson (NSH)
• Recorded his sixth assist of the season in Nashville’s 7-0 win over Winnipeg
