BU to Host Military Appreciation Night Friday
February 13, 2015 | Men's Ice Hockey
BOSTON - On February 13, 2015, Boston University's Men's Ice Hockey will host a Military Appreciation Night in conjunction with Operation Hat Trick and '47 Brand. Fans can get a free ticket to the game at Boston University Barnes & Noble Bookstore with the purchase of a '47 Brand Operation Hat Trick hat.
BU faces off against the University of New Hampshire, the home state of Operation Hat Trick and Dot Sheehan, who developed this program after hearing that the number one thing wanted by wounded service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan was a baseball hat that would cover swelling, bandages, and treatment. As the official headwear and apparel partner of OHT since 2011, '47 Brand helps generate awareness, support, and funding for the recovery of America's wounded warriors and active service members.
"We are thrilled to partner with `47 Brand and support this fantastic program. I admire the work done by our friends at UNH to make this such a successful initiative and I look forward to BU's involvement with OHT and the thousands of veterans it benefits," says Drew Marrochello, Athletic Director at Boston University.
BU ROTC color guard will present the colors pre-game, then Sheehan will drop the ceremonial first puck. Operation Hat Trick gear will be available throughout the game at the Barnes & Noble store behind section 106. Military personnel can get a free ticket by showing their military ID at the Agganis Arena Ticket Office on the day of the game.
