Terriers Post Road Wins at UConn, Merrimack

STORRS, Conn. - In the final weekend before the 2015 Patriot League Tournament, the Boston University men's tennis team claimed road wins at Merrimack (9-0) and UConn (6-1).
With the two victories, the Terriers end the regular season at 6-6. They posted a perfect combined 12-0 mark in singles to defeat the Huskies (2-17) on Sunday and the Warriors (7-6) on Saturday.
BU used the same lineup on both days for the back-to-back wins. Junior William Kwok (#1), sophomore Jay Leelavanich (#3), sophomore Lucas Bombonatti (#5) and sophomore Jake De Vries (#6) all won theirnrespective singles matches in straight sets.
Both junior Stefan Lemire (#2) and sophomore Mario Sandoval (#4) dropped the first set to UConn but rallied back to keep the Terriers perfect in singles for the weekend.
In doubles action, the Terriers won the top two doubles matches against Merrimack by a combined score of 16-6 and claimed the No. 3 tiebreaker in a 9-8(3) victory. They came up just short to the Huskies though, losing the three contests by a combined three games.
BU will next travel to Lewisburg, Pa., in search of the program's first NCAA bid. The event will take place on April 16-19 at Bucknell.
