
Terriers Post 6-1 Win at The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Continuing its spring break trip in South Carolina, the Boston University men's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 victory at The Citadel on Thursday night.
After winning two doubles matches and capturing five singles points, the Terriers improve to 5-5, while the Bulldogs fall to 7-15.
Senior Stefan Lemire teamed with junior Miguel Cepeda for a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, and freshmen Jeff Chan and Satyajit Simhadri claimed a 6-3 victory in the No. 3 slot to put BU ahead for good.
Simhadri carried the momentum into singles action, as he coasted to a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles. Junior Mario Sandoval dropped the fewest games in a dominating 6-0, 6-2 victory at line 5.
Junior Jay Leelavanich was down 5-1 in the first set of his match but won 12 of the final 13 games en route to a 7-5, 6-1 victory in the top singles spot. Lemire and junior Lucas Bombonatti won the other two points in three sets.
Chan almost completed the sweep, but the Bulldogs held off the rally to earn their lone point, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at line 6.
BU will next visit College of Charleston on Friday with action slated to begin at 11 a.m.
