BOSTON – Trailing by as many as 15 points in the second half, the Boston University women's basketball team roared back down the stretch once again, outscoring Loyola, 25-10, in the fourth quarter to take a thrilling 61-58 come-from-behind victory on Saturday afternoon at Case Gym.
The Terriers were led by junior
Sophie Beaudry, who scored 24 points and added 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season to lead BU to the win.

THE TURNING POINT
- Trailing 50-38 with 9:02 to play, BU went on a 14-2 run, helped by senior Sarah Hope's two 3-pointers, to tie the game at 52 with 2:52 to play.
- With the score tied at 54, Sophie Beaudry hit a tough shot in traffic while being fouled and added a free throw to make it a 57-54 game with 33.8 second left.
- The Terriers added four more free throws and prevented Loyola from getting an offensive rebound in the final seconds after a missed 3-point attempt to seal the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams started out slow, shooting a combined 6-24 (25.0%) from the floor in the first quarter with BU holding a slim 8-7 lead at the end of one.
- Lauren Doherty hit a three to make it a 23-15 game with 4:23 to play in the half, forcing BU to call timeout.
- The Greyhounds shot 10-18 (55.6%) from the floor, including 6-11 (54.5%) from behind the arc in the second quarter, to build a 33-22 halftime lead.
- The Greyhounds used a 7-1 spurt early in the third to grab their largest lead of the contest (42-27) at 6:51, but BU prevented them from pulling away and only trailed after the third, 48-36.
- Beaudry, Hope and junior Kara Sheftic combined for all of BU's points in the final quarter to outscore Loyola, 25-10. They shot 8-11 (72.7 FG%) from the floor and went 7-10 from the line (70.0 FT%) in the fourth.
GAME NOTES
- Saturday was the second time this season the Terriers have rallied from a 15+ point deficit to win a game. BU trailed at Lehigh, 60-44, with 5:33 remaining before rallying to win 69-64 on Jan. 2.
- Hope hit three 3-pointers to claim sole possession of second place in the BU record book at 220 career treys, just 24 shy of record holder Chantell Alford ('13).
- BU improved to 6-1 this season when scoring at least 60 points.
- The Terrier defense held Loyola to 5-16 (31.3 FG%) shooting in the fourth quarter.
- The Terriers owned a big advantage on the boards, 45-33. BU also had 16 offensive rebounds to Loyola's 11.
- BU outscored Loyola in the paint, 32-28.
