HANOVER, N.H. - The defending Patriot League champion Boston University women's tennis team opened the dual season with a 7-0 loss at Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon.

- Featuring two nationally-ranked singles players, Dartmouth claimed the doubles point by a combined score of 19-10.
- The Big Green completed the sweep in doubles by holding off senior Madison Craft and freshman Lily O'Fagan, 7-6, at the No. 3 slot.
- Dartmouth won all six singles points, including four in straight sets.
- After losing the first set and facing a 5-1 deficit in the second set against 124th-nationally ranked Taylor Ng, junior Iryna Kostirko rallied to win four straight games before eventually falling, 6-1, 7-5, in the top singles slot.
- Both senior Barbara Rodriguez (#2) and sophomore Remi Ramos (#4) won a set in their respective singles match before eventually falling in a super tiebreaker.
- The Terriers will next host Rhode Island on Thursday (Jan. 25) at 3 p.m.
- In last year's meeting at the Track and Tennis Center, BU claimed a 7-0 victory.
