Terriers Hold Off BC for 155-144 Senior Day Victory

BOSTON – Highlighted by 10 first-place finishes, the Boston University men's swimming & diving team celebrated Senior Day with a 155-144 victory over Boston College on Saturday afternoon at the Competition Pool.

The team score was decided by the 16th and final event, the 200 free relay, with BU clinging to a 144-138 lead. Matthew Traub, Daniel Andronov, Jake Goroshko and Brian Habacivch sealed BU's 10th victory in 11 years over the Eagles by edging BC's top relay squad by 0.86 seconds at 1:22.72.

Andronov also placed first in three other events by sweeping the 100 and 200 breaststroke races and helping BU win the 200 medley relay. Junior Garrett Chinn claimed a team-high three individual victories in the 200 back, 200 fly and 200 IM, while reigning PL Swimmer of the Week Trevor Winans won both the 100 and 200 free.

The Terrier swimmers will next visit Bryant on Sunday (Jan. 29) at 12 p.m., while the divers will have to wait for the UConn Open on Saturday, Feb. 4 for their next competition.
