BOSTON – Continuing a five-match homestand, the Boston University men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision to Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon at the Track & Tennis Center.

- Quinnipiac jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning two of the three doubles matches and then claimed three singles points, including two in straight sets, for the team win.
- Senior Jay Leelavanich and freshman J.P. Avila won the first doubles contest at line 3 by a score of 6-3, but the Bobcats posted a winning score of 6-4 at line 1 and 6-3 in the No. 2 slot for the first point.
- Freshman Marc Sable quickly tied the score at 1-1 after he won the first set at line 2 in singles and his opponent retired due to injury.
- The Bobcats though won the next three points for the team win, including 6-3, 6-3 victory over Leelavanich at No. 3 and 7-5, 7-5 win over senior Jake De Vries at No. 4.
- After losing a tough No. 1 doubles match, Simhadri dropped the first set at No. 1 singles and then rallied to force a third before falling, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
- BU won the final two points with senior Mario Sandoval rolling to a 6-3, 6-3 win at line 5 and Avila holding off a late charge in the No. 6 slot for 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 win.
- The Terriers will next host Bryant on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m.
- BU will face the Bulldogs for the first time since falling on the road in 2014 by a score of 6-1.
