TURNING POINT
- Leading 12-5 late in the first quarter, BU went on a 15-2 run capped by a Hope 3-pointer with 7:19 to play in the second stanza to go ahead by 20, 27-7.
- The Raiders were held without a field goal during that run, as the Terriers kept Colgate to an 0-for-11 performance from the floor over a span of 8:50.
ONE AWAY FROM A NEW RECORD
- Senior Sarah Hope tied the program record for career 3-pointers with a pair of treys.
- She now has 244 3-pointers, matching 2013 graduate Chantell Alford's mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a slow start for both teams, the Terriers found their offensive rhythm and opened up a 12-2 lead late in the first quarter.
- BU took a 16-5 advantage into the second stanza and eventually led 33-16 at halftime.
- That 17-point lead came thanks to a distinct advantage on the inside. The Terriers outscored Colgate, 24-4, in the paint during the first half.
- The Terriers were also terrific on the glass in the opening half, led by seven rebounds each from senior Courtney Latham and freshman Nia Irving.
- Colgate was unable to gain any ground in the third quarter as the Terriers extended their lead to 18, 53-35, after 30 minutes.
- Hope and junior Corrine Williams both went 4-of-4 at the free-throw line in the third quarter while senior Meghan Green finished the frame with seven points thanks to a pair of triples.
- Colgate outscored BU, 16-11, in the fourth quarter but never truly threatened as the Terriers maintained their double-digit lead and closed out the victory.
