MIAMI, Fla. - Despite grabbing an early lead with the doubles point, the Boston University women's tennis team started its spring break trip to Florida with a 6-1 loss to Penn on Monday afternoon.

- The Terriers won the top two doubles matches to claim the first point, but then Penn captured all six singles points, including four in straight sets.
- Senior Barbara Rodriguez and sophomore Remi Ramos posted a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, while Penn posted an identical score at line 3 against senior Madison Craft and freshman Lily O'Fagan.
- Junior Iryna Kostirko and sophomore Sabrina Faybyshev though gave BU the early advantage with 6-4 victory in the No. 2 doubles slot.
- Ramos won the most games in singles action (12) for the Terriers at line 2 in a hard-fought match that required a third-set tiebreaker with Penn ultimately prevailing, 2-6, 6-0, 7-6(4).
- The Quakers also rallied from a set down in the No. 4 slot to beat Rodriguez, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
- The Terriers will have a quick turnaround and visit Florida Atlantic on Tuesday (March 7) at 1 p.m.
