BU Holds Off Florida Atlantic, 4-2

BOCA RATON, Fla. – After jumping out to a two-point advantage, the Boston University women's tennis team held off a late charge from Florida Atlantic before prevailing, 4-2, on Wednesday morning at the FAU Tennis Complex. The teams first met a day prior but a weather delay and eventually darkness forced suspension of play, which was completed without doubles taking place.

- After FAU dropped just three games at line 5 in singles for a 1-0 advantage, BU won three straight points.
- Sophomore Remi Ramos (#2) posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory, while senior Barbara Rodriguez (#4) and sophomore Sophia Kryloff (#6) posted identical scores of 6-4, 6-3 to give the Terriers a 3-1 lead.
- The final two matches required a third set with the Owls' Laura Fabrizi rallying for a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 win against junior Iryna Kostirko at line 1.
- On Wednesday before play was halted by darkness, Marisa Ruiz rallied from a set down to force a third against sophomore Sabrina Faybyshev in the No. 3 slot by claiming the tiebreaker, 7-4.
- Faybyshev though bounced back to help the Terriers avoid having to play doubles by dispatching Ruiz in the third set, 6-1.
- BU will conclude the spring break trip at No. 26 Florida International with doubles set to begin at 1 p.m.
