Men's Tennis Opens Spring Break Trip with 5-2 Loss at Keiser University

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Boston University men's tennis team opened its spring break trip in Florida with a 5-2 loss at Keiser, who ranked No. 3 in the latest NAIA national poll, on Wednesday afternoon.

- Featuring two nationally-ranked tandems in the NAIA poll, Keiser swept the Terriers in doubles to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
- The Seahawks won at lines 2 and 3 by a combined score of 16-3 and then completed the sweep with No. 8 Clement Raymond/Francesco Oliva edging senior Lucas Bombonatti and sophomore Satyajit Simhadri in a tiebreaker for the 9-8(4) victory.
- Keiser claimed four of the six singles points, including straight-set victories at lines 2, 3 and 6.
- Bombonatti rallied from a set down in the top singles slot to beat No. 28 Sebastian Penaloza, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1, while freshman Marc Sable accomplished a similar feat at No. 5 against Romai Ugarte, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
- Senior Mario Sandoval also rallied to force a third set but ulimately came up short to No. 8 Arthur Bonnaud, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
- The Terriers will next visit ACC member Miami on Friday (March 10) with doubles action slated to begin at 3 p.m.
