Boston, Mass. – In a back-and-forth contest featuring 10 lead changes, Navy proved to have the final say as it netted the game-winning goal with 51 seconds left to escape with a 15-14 victory over the Boston University women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon at Nickerson Field.

DOWN TO THE WIRE
- Navy opened the game with a 3-0 run, but neither team was able to hold onto more than a two-goal lead the rest of the game.
- With 3:09 remaining, reigning Patriot League Attacker of the Week Avery Donahoe put BU ahead 14-13
- However, Navy's Meg O'Donnell roped back-to-back goals over the final two minutes, including the game-winner on a behind-the-back shot as the Mids won the ensuing draw and held on for its fifth straight Patriot League win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers found themselves in a 3-0 hold just under four minutes into play before its offense erupted for three straight goals to tie the game, as Taylor Hardison started things off with a free position shot and Mickenzie Larivee followed with back-to-back goals to put the score at 3-3 with 20:54 left in the first half.
- Larivee continued to have the hot stick, finishing off her hat trick with 17:30 on the clock to tie the game up at 4-4.
- Navy's Jenna Collins followed by polishing off a hat trick of her own before two straight scores from Kaitlin Belval and Donahoe gave the Terriers their first lead of the game, 6-5, with 6:15 remaining in the first.
- Each team reeled off a 2-0 run, as the Mids went up by one before BU took the lead right back with scores from Elisabeth Jayne and Larivee.
- With one second left in the first half, Navy cashed in on a free position shot to knot the game, 8-8, heading into halftime.
- Hardison and Kelly Mathews struck in the opening minutes of the second half to give BU its first two-goal lead at 10-8.
- After Navy's O'Donnell and Mathews exchanged goals, the Mids put up another 3-0 run to eke out a 12-11 advantage with 18:47 left.
- Tonianne Magnelli answered with the equalizer and Jayne put the Terriers back on top, 13-12, with a strike through the lane with 14:22 on the clock.
- Following Donahoe's go-ahead score, BU won the ensuing draw, but Navy caused the Terriers to turn it over. From there, the Mids tied the game up and won the final two draws to prevent the Terriers from having a chance on the offensive end.
GAME NOTES
- The Mids have taken four straight against the Terriers and now lead the all-time series, 4-2.
- BU saw its three-game win streak at Nickerson Field snapped.
- Larivee scored four goals for the second time in three games. She is now tied with Jayne for the team lead with 25 goals on the season.
- Caroline Meegan played an outstanding game in net, making several key saves against the top offense in the Patriot League, and finished with 14 stops on the afternoon.
- Mackenzie Howe caused a team-best three turnovers and won two draw controls.
- Talley Perkins led the Terriers with three ground balls and caused a turnover.
- Conry posted a season-high five assists.
