May 17, 2017 | Women's Rowing
BOSTON – Stacey Rippetoe has resigned from her post as the director and head coach of women's rowing at Boston University, assistant vice president and director of athletics Drew Marrochello announced today.
"We greatly appreciate the contributions that Stacey has made during her nine years at BU," Marrochello said. "Her student-athletes have been model representatives of BU and we wish Stacey nothing but the best in her future endeavors."
During Rippetoe's tenure, the Terriers qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2013 and 2014 thanks to conference titles in the CAA and Patriot League, respectively. A three-time conference coach of the year, Rippetoe guided BU boats to six Eastern Sprints medals, including three in 2012.
"I loved my nine years leading the BU women's rowing program and I'll treasure the relationships I've built during that time," said Rippetoe. "I wish the athletics department great success in the coming years."
Rippetoe was named the head coach of the BU women's rowing program in 2008 and took on the role of director in 2013 following the addition of women's lightweight rowing as a varsity sport.
A national search to replace Rippetoe will begin immediately.
