BOSTON – The Boston University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will resume its season on Saturday, Jan. 12 as it hosts Colgate at Competition Pool for a 5 p.m. meet.
The men's team posted a 3-2 record in dual meets through the first half of the season, while the women went 1-5 in head-to-head competition.
In BU's final meet of 2017, both teams fell to UConn on Dec. 2 at Competition Pool. Garrett Chin posted a dominating performance, playing a hand in 31 of BU's 101.5 points on the day. Chin took home the top spot in the 200 fly, 200 back and 200 IM, while also guiding the 400 medley relay team of Chris Downing, Stuart Vickeryand Judson Balding to a second-place finish. Erik Ryan and Trevor Winans posted second-place finishes individually, as Ryan placed in the 1,000 free and Winans followed up in the 200 free.
Grace Anderson took home a trio of events on the women's side, the 1,000 free, 200 free and 500 free. Anderson, along with Marie Alameida, Megan Wimmer and Julimar Avila, also won the 400 free relay. Avila topped the podium as well, winning both the 50 free and 100 fly.
The Terriers will head to Fairfax, Virginia as George Mason will welcome the Terriers and fellow Patriot League members American and Army West Point on Jan. 20.
