Colgate Awaits Thursday Matchup With Women's Basketball

BOSTON – Closing out a two-game road swing, the Boston University women's basketball will head to Colgate for a noon matchup on Thursday, Jan. 11.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Lehigh bested the Terriers, 74-58, on Monday night at Stabler Arena.
  • The second quarter was the only frame in which either team held a scoring advantage, as Lehigh outscored BU 26-10. The first and third quarters saw each team score 19 points, while both teams scored 10 points in the fourth quarter.
  • Katie Nelson led the Terriers with 13 points, while Payton Hauck and Corrine Williams also reached double-digit scoring figures, netting 10 points apiece.
  • Nia Irving posted a game-high nine rebounds and Hauck dished out a team-high four assists.

HOT HAND

  • The Terriers rank second in the Patriot League in field goal percentage (.410) and rank third in 3-point field goal percentage (.340).
  • BU shot 72.7 percent (8-for-11) in the third quarter against Loyola Jan. 5, setting its highest shooting percentage in a single quarter this season. and set a season-high with a 56.1 percent (32-for-57) shooting clip for the game.

DEFENSE GETTING IT DONE

  • In three of its first four Patriot League contests, BU has limited its opponents to under .400 percent shooting from the floor.
  • The Terriers are also averaging 6.0 blocks per game in conference play.

SCOUTING COLGATE

  • Colgate is coming off a 70-54 loss at Navy to drop to 4-11 on the season and 0-4 against conference opponents.
  • Entering Thursday's contest with a seven-game losing streak, Colgate's last win came on its home court on Dec. 2, an 84-64 win over UMass Lowell.
  • Summer King is the top threat on both ends of the court, leading the team in scoring (9.3), rebounding (6.9) and blocks (17).
  • Rachel Thompson follows in scoring (8.9) and rebounding (5.3) and leads the team in steals (18).
  • Colgate is the lone team in the Patriot League that has yet to win a conference game.
  • Bill Cleary is in his second season at the helm of the Raiders and is 14-31 during his time in Hamilton.
