HANOVER, N.H. - The No. 9 Boston University men's rowing team will travel to Hanover, N.H. to take on No. 8 Dartmouth in the annual battle for the Bill Cup on Saturday. The Terriers will be looking to regain the cup after Dartmouth upset the Terriers on the Charles River last year in an extremely close race.
BU and Dartmouth will race four boats during the morning competition (1V8, 2V8, 3V8 and 4+). The first race of the day will be the V4 scheduled for 9 a.m. and the final race will be the 1V8 for the Bill Cup at 10 a.m.
In last year's Bill Cup race on the Charles River, BU's V8 lost by just six tenths of a second (5:57.16 to 5:57.72). The loss snapped a 12-race winning streak for the Terriers over Dartmouth dating back to 2006. BU went on to win three out of four races on the day, taking the 2V, 3V and 4V races.
The Bill Cup is named after Edwin Bill, who was an oarsman at Dartmouth College and the University of Wisconsin. Bill also had ties with Rutgers University, which also will compete this weekend, and created the cup for competition among Boston University, Dartmouth and Rutgers beginning in 1941. The series was interrupted by World War II and did not resume for 22 years.

After this weekend's competition, the Terriers will return home to take on Syracuse (Conlan Cup) and Columbia (Lusins Cup) on April 21.
