The Boston University golf team will look to win its second Patriot League title this weekend when the Terriers tee off at the 2018 Patriot League Women's Golf Championship on Saturday at the Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Maryland. The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday before Sunday's final round.
BU, which won the conference crown at Navy in 2015, returns four of its five scorers from last year's squad that finished second by just two shots to Richmond. Two of those players - senior Phyllis Tang and junior Megan Carter - finished second and third, respectively, at the 2017 championship. Sophomores Abby Parsons and Zhangcheng Guo both posted top-20 performances as freshmen last year.
Tang, the lone Terrier that was part of that 2015 team, has twice finished in the top five at the conference tournament and has three top-11 performances on her Patriot League resume. Carter has been equally as impressive at this tournament, as she tied for seventh in her Patriot League debut in 2016.
Freshman Katerina Doleckova will be making her Patriot League Championship debut this weekend. The Czech Republic native fired a 74 at this course in her collegiate debut at the Navy Fall Invitational in September. Tang led BU at that tournament with a score of 230 (75-75-80).
If the Terriers are victorious this weekend, they will earn an automatic bid to one of four NCAA Regionals, which will be held May 7-9.
