CANTON, Mass. - Paced by senior Megan Carter's 36-hole score of 149, the Boston University golf team is in third place after the first day of the Boston College Intercollegiate at Blue Hill Country Club.
Carter fired an opening round 74 and followed that up with a 75 to end the day tied for third. She is five strokes back of the leader, who finished the day at even par. Carter's score of 149 matches her 36-hole score at last weekend's Dartmouth Invitational.
BU combined for a score of 609 (304-305) and is just two shots back of co-leaders Western Kentucky and BC. Albany (610) and Brown (611) round out the top five.
Junior Annie Sritragul is tied for seventh, just one shot back of Carter, after rounds of 74 and 76. Freshman Hanako Kawasaki is tied for 21st with a score of 154 (78-76), followed by junior Zhangcheng Guo (78-82) and sophomore Katerina Doleckova (82-78) at 160. Junior Abby Parsons (86-83) competed as an individual.
Tuesday's final round will have a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m.
