BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Boston University men's cross country team continued its 2018 season at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh on Saturday morning.
After the Terriers were in 11th after the first mile, BU finished 25th in a competitive 41-team field with a score of 648 points.
Redshirt sophomore Brett Davidson led the Terriers with a 30th-place performance, crossing the finish line of the 8K race in 25:00. Senior Alexander Seal also finished in the top 100, coming in 97th place with a time of 25:35. Senior Johnny Kemps (26:04) and junior Paul Luevano (26:09) were next, followed by sophomore Scotti Hamilton (26:17), senior Zachary Prescott (26:18) and freshman Joe Grandizio (26:24). Freshmen Aksel Laudon (27:10) and Marcel Aubry (27:19) also raced, as did sophomore Logan Broedner (27:43).
"I thought Brett did a good job." head coach Paul Spangler said. "The goal was for him to finish in the top 30, but our goal was for him to be our third guy. We've got to learn from this and change our mindset going into the final few races."
BU will return to Franklin Park on Saturday, Oct. 6, when the Terriers compete in the New England Championships. BU did not compete at last year's event, but the Terriers finished fourth in 2016 and won the team title in 2015.
