HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont won the opening faceoff and scored just six seconds into the game to grab a 1-0 lead.
- Nearis answered with a nifty goal at 15:09 of the first period. Compher and Nearis combined to intercept a breakout pass in the UVM zone. Nearis then dangled past a defender and deked Natalie Ferenc (13 saves) before sliding the puck into the open net for her team-leading eighth marker of the campaign.
- Cook began the Terriers' three-goal second stanza with a power-play goal just 2:00 into the frame when she one-timed a Davis pass past Ferenc.
- Compher then extended the lead to 3-1 at the 12:46 mark with her first of two power-play strikes. Davis found Compher stationed at the bottom of the left circle and Compher made no mistake in putting the puck into the back of the net.
- Schuler made it 4-1 just over a minute later. Scarpaci kept the puck in at the blue line and sent it along the wall to the right corner. Schuler won a battle for the puck, came out to the bottom of the right circle and uncorked a wicked wrister under the crossbar for her seventh goal of the year.
- Compher concluded the scoring just 1:18 into the third when she skated to the right post and knocked home a Davis pass past Blanka Skodova (three saves).
