CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Facing the first of two crosstown rivals this weekend, the Boston University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Boston College on Friday evening.
The Eagles (2-1) won two doubles matches for the first point and then claimed four singles points in straight sets to defeat the Terriers (2-3) following Tuesday's 7-0 home sweep over UConn. Both sophomores David Bogatin and Pete Siozios won a singles point to lead BU.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles were victorious at No. 1 and 3 doubles by a combined score of 12-3 to jump out to the 1-0 lead.
- BC dropped just three games at No. 3 singles and also claimed straight-set wins at No. 1, 4 and 6.
- Bogatin jumped out to a fast start at No. 2 and held off Markus Nordby for the thrilling 6-2, 6-7, 10-5 win.
- Siozios also won his first set and super tiebreaker to defeat Conor Mullins, 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 and claim the Terriers' other singles point in the No. 5 slot.
- The Terriers will visit the Crimson on Saturday (Feb. 2) with doubles action slated to begin at 6 p.m.
- Last season, then-No. 26 Harvard pulled out a 5-2 win at home.
