HOW IT HAPPENED
- UVM got the first power play of the game and took full advantage of it as Joey Cipollone deposited a rebound at the left crease with 12:46 remaining in the opening period.
- Junior Dante Fabbro prevented a two-goal deficit with one of his game-high four blocked shots in the second as Cipollone had a wide-open look on the left side.
- The Terriers finally got the puck past UVM netminder Stefanos Lekkas late in the second with an impressive passing display off a rush.
- Junior Patrick Curry took a pass from Harper and raced into the Vermont zone along the left side before eluding a defender and spotting Harper approaching the slot.
- Curry and Harper passed back and forth twice more before Harper buried a shot from above the right post at 18:25 of the middle frame.
- BU had two power plays – both occurring in the third – but was unable to capitalize and then had to kill a late penalty with 5:09 left in regulation.
- The Terriers allowed just three shots in the third and pressed hard down the stretch before being rewarded with a winner.
- Farabee kept the puck in the Vermont zone and executed a perfect give-and-go with sophomore Logan Cockerill, who was along the right boards.
- Cockerill returned the puck to Farabee at the top of the right circle and the rookie skated in alone to the slot, where he flicked the puck over Lekkas' blocker with 57 seconds left to play.
- Junior Jake Oettinger made 19 saves and stopped 48 of the 49 shots he faced in the weekend series.
- Fabbro blocked four shots for the second consecutive night and continues to lead all Hockey East players with 66 blocks on the season.
- Farabee now leads the Terriers in goals with 12.
- Sophomore defensemen Cam Crotty and Kasper Kotkansalo each picked up an assist.
- BU held a lead for only 57 seconds all weekend but came away with four important points in the Hockey East standings.
- The Terriers are tied for fifth with Maine and are just three points out of second place with three games remaining.
- The Terriers return to action on Thursday (Feb. 28) when they visit No. 10/11 Providence.
- Game time at Schneider Arena is set for 7 p.m.
- The contest will be televised on NBC Sports Boston.
- BU and Providence have split their two previous meetings this season.
