Terriers Fall at No. 28 Dartmouth, 6-1

HANOVER, N.H. – Facing its first nationally-ranked opponent of the year, the Boston University men's tennis team fell at No. 28 Dartmouth, 6-1, on Saturday evening.
The Big Green (7-5) won two doubles matches for the first point and then captured five singles points, including four in straight sets, to defeat the Terriers (3-7). Freshman Max Hartenstein led BU with a No. 4 singles victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Big Green posted a 6-1 win at line 3 and then claimed a 6-3 victory in the top doubles slot for the 1-0 advantage.
- Junior J.P. Avila and Hartenstein were tied, 4-4, at line 2 when their match was halted.
- In singles, Dartmouth won the top three matches in straight sets and also posted a straight-set win at line 5.
- Hartenstein rallied from a set down to defeat Casey Ross, 2-6, 7-6(6), 11-9, for the Terriers' lone point i the No. 4 slot.
- Sophomore Ethan Kolsky won a set at line 6 but came up just short in the super tiebreaker for a 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 loss.
- BU will face MIT (1 p.m.) and a visiting UConn (5 p.m.) next Saturday afternoon in Cambridge.
- The Terriers won both matches last season on the road with a 4-3 win over the Engineers and 5-2 victory against the Huskies.
