BOSTON, Mass. - The No. 8 Boston University men's rowing team will take on No. 10 Dartmouth in the annual battle for the Bill Cup on Saturday. The Terriers will look to regain the Bill CUp after losing a hard-fought race by a length last year in Hanover, N.H.
The teams are scheduled to race four boats during the morning competition (1V8, 2V8, 3V8 and 4V8). The first race of the day will be the 1V8 for the Bill Cup scheduled for 7:45 a.m. and the final race will be the 4V8 at 9:15 a.m.
The Terriers will look to regain the Bill Cup after losing a hard-fought race by a length last year in Hanover, N.H. The Terriers jumped out to an early lead but Dartmouth fought back and pulled ahead over the final 500 meters to take the victory. After 11-consecutive BU victories from 2006-2016, Dartmouth has now won two-consecutive Bill Cups for the first time since 2004-2005.
The Bill Cup is named after Edwin Bill, who was an oarsman at Dartmouth College and the University of Wisconsin. The series dates back to 1941 but was interrupted by World War II and did not resume until 1964. The series is currently dead even with Boston University and Dartmouth both winning 20 races while Rutgers University, formerly a part of the series, has won 17.

After this weekend's competition, the Terriers will take on Syracuse (Conlan Cup) and Columbia (Lusins Cup) on April 27 in Overpeck, N.J.
