BOSTON
- The Boston University men's ice hockey team and Agganis Arena have unveiled the Terriers' home schedule for the 2019-20 season. Head coach Albie O'Connell has also announced the captains for next year as rising senior Patrick Curry will serve as captain while classmate Patrick Harper and rising juniors Logan Cockerill and Cam Crotty will be the team's assistant captains.

The 18 home dates in 2019-20 will feature five non-conference games and 12 Hockey East contests in addition to an exhibition game that will take place at Walter Brown Arena.

BU's home opener will take place on Family & Friends Weekend as Northern Michigan comes to town for a pair of games on Oct. 18 & 19. This will mark the Wildcats' first visit to BU since 1988.

The Terriers will host Sacred Heart on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 26) while the other two non-conference home games will be against Harvard (Dec. 3) and Brown (Jan. 8)

A new cycle of the Hockey East unbalanced schedule begins this season and the Terriers will be facing New Hampshire, Northeastern, UMass Lowell and Vermont three times each.

BU's first home league game of the season will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, against UNH. The Terriers will host Providence (Nov. 8) and Massachusetts (Nov. 15) on back-to-back Fridays before welcoming Vermont for a weekend series on Nov. 22-23.

The Terriers will be home for all of their games in December, beginning with the Harvard tilt. Northeastern will visit on Dec. 7 and the team will face Concordia University in an exhibition contest at Walter Brown on Sunday, Dec. 29.

Coach O'Connell's squad will have seven home contests after the calendar turns to 2020. Brown makes the short trip to Boston on Jan. 8 and the only other January home opponent will be UMass Lowell on Jan. 24.

The highlight of the February home schedule will occur at the end of the month when archrival Boston College heads to Agganis on leap day (Feb. 29). Before that, BU will welcome Merrimack (Feb. 7), UNH (Feb. 15) and UConn (Feb. 22).

BU will be home for the regular-season finale as Senior Night will take place against Northeastern on Saturday, March 7.

All four members of next season's leadership group will be first-time captains. Curry is coming off an impressive junior season in which he tallied 26 points on 13 goals and 13 assists, finishing second on the team in goals and third in points, and will be the team's leading returner in both categories.

Harper has the most career points of any Terrier on next year's team with 78 (27g, 51a) after putting up 20 (6g, 14a) this past season. Cockerill, a member of this season's U.S. World Junior Team, and Crotty, a strong two-way defenseman, have been key contributors since arriving on campus and will be taking on even bigger roles as upperclassmen.

Game times and the remainder of the 2019-20 schedule will be announced later this summer.
