BOSTON - The Boston University men's ice hockey program and Agganis Arena have announced the full schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
In addition to the 18-game home schedule that was announced in May, the Terriers will play 14 regular-season road games while also taking part in the seventh edition of Red Hot Hockey and the 68th Beanpot Tournament. BU will also travel to Michigan to take on the U.S. National Under-18 Team in an exhibition.
The 98th season of BU men's ice hockey officially kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 5, with a non-conference game at Union. Thanks to a 4 p.m. start, it will be the first men's contest of the 2019-20 NCAA season.
The Terriers will play one other road game in non-conference play, visiting Dartmouth on Jan. 11.
A new rotation of opponents in Hockey East play takes place this season and the Terriers will face UMass Lowell, New Hampshire, Northeastern and Vermont three times each. BU's league opener will take place on Oct. 25 in Lowell before the team hosts UNH the following night.
The Terriers' lone weekend road series of the season will take place on Nov. 1-2 when they head north for a pair against Maine.
BU's only flight of the season will actually be for an exhibition game as the Terriers will open the 2020 portion of their schedule on Jan. 3 with a trip to Plymouth, Mich., to take on the U.S. National Under-18 Team.
All Friday home games will once again start at 7:30 p.m. and the three weekday games at Agganis (Nov. 26 vs. Sacred Heart, Dec. 3 vs. Harvard, Jan. 8 vs. Brown) will all begin at 7 p.m. Saturday home contests will also start at 7 p.m. except for two 4 p.m. games - one in each semester (Nov. 23 vs. Vermont, March 7 vs. Northeastern).
The Terriers will return to Walter Brown Arena for just the second time since Agganis Arena opened when they welcome Concordia on Sunday, Dec. 29, for an exhibition that will start at 5 p.m.
Start times for all three games against Boston College, including the opening round of the Beanpot, will be announced later this summer.
Season tickets are on sale now, including discounted rates for BU Young Alumni, Faculty and Staff. To select your seats today, go to AgganisArena.com.
