BOSTON – After helping lead the Boston University men's tennis team to the Patriot League semifinals and finishing with a GPA above 3.50, rising senior J.P. Avila and junior David Bogatin have been named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athletes.
The honor marks the third for Avila, who posted a team-high 3.75 GPA in the spring semester as a business administration major. Bogatin was recognized for the first time after claiming Patriot League All-Academic Team honors back in May as a business administration major.
Both Terriers were previously named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for claiming a GPA above 3.20 alongside rising senior Marc Sable, junior Owen Lu and sophomore Max Hartenstein.
