Gugel Named PL Runner of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior Abigail Gugel of the Boston University women's cross country team was named PL Female Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Gugel finished first in a field of 90 runners with a time of 17:11.2, leading the Terriers to a first place team finish ahead of teams from Syracuse, Navy, Bucknell, Lehigh, Colgate and Binghamton.
The victory took place on the same course where the Patriot League Championships will be held on Nov. 2.
BU claimed three of the four Patriot League M-F Athletic Cross Country Runner of the Week awards as senior Paul Luevano and freshman Foster Malleck of the men's team also received PL recognition on Tuesday.
The Terriers will next compete at Franklin Park, in the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday, Sept. 20th.
