Boston University men's tennis alum Pat Gonnelli (Questrom'93) was the guest in this week's alumni edition of Terrier Tuesdays.
Â
A native of Old Tappan, New Jersey, Gonnelli came to BU as the Northern Valley Regional High School all-time wins leader with 61 victories. He was also a three-time All-League and County honoree who ranked 23rd in the East and was named to the Bergen Record's All-Decade Team.
Â
With the Terriers, he overcame injuries to break the six-year-old program record for career wins (56) in the middle of his senior season and finished with 65 total. The two-time All-Conference honoree helped BU claim its first North Atlantic Conference title since 1988 as a team captain and team MVP in 1993. The 1993 squad finished the year ranked within the top ten in the East for NCAA Division I schools.
Â
After graduating from the Questrom School of Business, Gonnelli would go on to excel professionally in the financial and reinsurance industries. He began his career within the John Hancock organization in Boston and would later serve as Executive Vice President for Tradition Re in Bermuda. He's now a Partner and Global Head of ILS Distribution and Trading for TigerRisk Capital Markets & Advisory.
