February 10, 2020 | Women's Ice Hockey
WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Junior Jesse Compher of the Boston University women's ice hockey team has been named Hockey East Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Compher led the conference with five points in two games, scoring two goals in the Terriers' 4-0 Beanpot semifinal win over Boston College on Tuesday before notching one goal and two assists in a 5-2 triumph at Holy Cross on Saturday. Only two players in the country had more points than Compher this week.
Not only did Compher produce points at a high rate, but she also shined in the faceoff circle. The center led the nation by winning 90% of the draws she took this week, going 27-3 at the dot. That includes an impressive 15-1 record against BC on Tuesday night.
BU will look to win its second straight Beanpot title on Tuesday, Feb. 11, when the Terriers host No. 2/3 Northeastern at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m.
