Women's Golf Sets Program Record on Opening Day of Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Boston University women's golf team shot a program-record 281 in the second of two rounds on opening day of the Yale Invitational on Saturday at the Yale Golf Course.
The Terriers stand in second place after day one at +11, six strokes behind tournament leader Boston College. BU had an opening-round 298 and then improved 17 strokes in the second round to break the program's previous mark of 286 from the 2020 Kiawah Island Classic.
Sophomore Flair Kuan stands in a tie for second at -4 after shooting a 70-68--138 on day one. The 68 marked her lowest round as a Terrier and was one off the school record of 67, held by Hanako Kawasaki. Kawasaki was also under par on Saturday, firing a 70-71--141 (-1), which is good for sixth place.
Freshman Victoria Takai followed up 79 in round one with a 71 - her best this season - to move up 18 spots into a tie for 19th at +8. All five Terriers are currently in the top 40 as freshman Christy Chen is tied for 34th at +12 (79-75--154) and junior Alice Fan is tied for 39th at +13 (84-71--155).
Sunday's third and final round will start at 8:15 a.m.
