ALLSTON, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team wrapped up the fall schedule with a strong showing against a pair of Big Ten members over the weekend at the Harvard Invitational.

The Terriers opened the event by winning a hidden dual against Wisconsin (4-3) on Saturday and then battled valiantly with Minnesota in an unofficial 7-0 defeat on Sunday.

Senior Shelly Yaloz and freshman Michelle Kleynerman led BU by teaming together for identical 7-5 doubles wins against the No. 2 duos from Wisconsin and Minnesota. In singles action, Kleynerman posted a 7-6, 6-3 against Wisconsin's Denise Stoica, while Yaloz collected a 6-4, 6-3 win over the Badgers' Ashley Johnson.

After teaming with freshman Sydney Sharma for a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles against Wisconsin, sophomore Victoria Carlsten added the decisive third singles victory by rallying from a set down to defeat Taylor Cataldi, 1-6, 6-2, 12-10.

In the matchup with Minnesota, both Carlsten and Yaloz won a set in their respective matches, while both Kleynerman and Sharma won at least four games apiece in each set. Junior Sofia Kostirko earned an 8-7 win at line 7 against the Gophers' Zeyneb Sarioglan.

The Terriers will next focus on preparations for the dual season, which will begin in January.
