November 8, 2021 | Women's Cross Country
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Graduate student Corinne Batsu and junior Andrea Claeson have been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference announced on Monday.
Both Batsu and Claeson were outstanding on the course and in the classroom this fall. Batsu earned her first nod to the Academic All-PL Team after earning a 3.61 GPA while studying applied business analytics. Claeson, last year's Patriot League Schoar-Athlete of the Year, became a two-time Academic All-PL selection after maintaining a 3.81 GPA as a public relations major.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
The duo was outstanding at the Patriot League Championship on Oct. 31. Claeson crossed the line in third place while Batsu earned her highest-ever finish in fourth place; both earned First Team All-Patriot League honors for their effort. Claeson also took 10th in her other start of the year at the Princeton Invitational, while Batsu led the Terriers at three different events and posted a personal-best time at both 5K and 6K.
Batsu and Claeson will compete this Friday at the NCAA Northeast Regional, which will be hosted at Franklin Park.
