BOSTON - Following clinching the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament for the second year in-a-row, the Boston University women's basketball team will open up its 2021 postseason run with a quarterfinal round matchup against No. 7 Lafayette on Sunday, March 7. Opening tip from Case Gym is set for 2 p.m.

The Terriers won the North Division with a 10-2 overall record and matched the 1994-95 team for the best record in program history through the first 12 games.

BU saw three student-athletes in Katie Nelson, Sydney Johnson and Maren Durant recognized on the All-Patriot League teams. Nelson became the first Terrier to earn four All-Patriot League honors and made her initial appearance on the first team, while Johnson and Durant made their debuts on the second and third team, respectively.

Sunday will mark the second postseason matchup between the Terriers and Leopards. The two teams clashed in Easton for a first round tilt in 2018, where Lafayette ended BU's season with a 66-61 decision. BU won its lone outer-division game this season at Lafayette, 53-46, after utilizing a 17-0 run to start the fourth quarter.

Lafayette is led by Natalie Kucowski, who became the second player in league history to earn both Patriot League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors. Kucowski leads the NCAA in rebounds per game (13.2) and ranks second in the league in scoring (17.5).
