BOSTON – Competing in its final non-conference matchup of the regular season, the Boston University women's tennis team will host Merrimack on Friday with doubles action slated to begin at 1 p.m.
The Terriers own a couple of 7-0 sweeps against both Rhode Island (2/27) and Bryant (3/14) with a 4-3 victory at UConn (3/20). The lone loss occurred at Boston College back on March 6.
Senior Katya Martens leads the Terriers with a combined 4-0 singles mark, while classmate Lily Burchell and freshman Kaitlin Tan have collected three wins apiece. In doubles, eight different combinations have been utilized through four matches with Tan and sophomore Sofia Kostirko earning a 2-1 mark.
Merrimack is 1-2 on the road this season with a 5-2 win at Providence following 7-0 losses at Bryant and Sacred Heart. The Warriors started the season with a 7-0 win against Holy Cross at home before dropping a 6-1 decision to LIU.
The matchup will mark BU's first against the Warriors since they moved up to the NCAA Division I ranks as a new member of the Northeast Conference in the summer of 2019.
