FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Playing for the first time in over a year, the Boston University golf team is tied for first after the opening round of the FDU Invitational at Penn National Golf Club & Inn.
The Terriers battled challenging conditions for much of the day, as temperatures were only in the low 30s, and played their best golf on the second nine. They finished with a team score of 314 to sit atop the leaderboard along with host Fairleigh Dickinson. Sacred Heart is six strokes back in third while Wagner is 12 shots back in fourth.
This is the third straight tournament that BU has held at least a share of the lead entering the final round. The Terriers will look to complete their wire-to-wire victory on Saturday. A shotgun start is scheduled for 10:15 a.m.
