BOSTON – A total of 142 student-athletes participated in graduation ceremonies this past weekend as part of Boston University's 148th Commencement.
Because of the ongoing pandemic and the need for social distancing, there were two separate ceremonies at Nickerson Field on Sunday; one for advanced degree graduates in the morning and one for graduating seniors in the afternoon. Noubar Afeyan, the cofounder and chairman of Moderna, Inc., addressed the members of the Class of 2021 gathered for the advanced degree ceremony, and US Representative Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts delivered the Commencement speech to the graduating seniors a few hours later.
The Department of Athletics
celebrated the Class of 2021 earlier in the week at a small gathering at BU Softball Field.
Listed below are the three student-athletes who were inducted into the Scarlet Key honor society this past year and the 33 Terriers who graduated with Latin honors.
