**UPDATED FRIDAY RACE SCHEDULE**
Double Scull - 9:30am
Varsity four - 9:50am
The Terriers are the defending IRA champions in the double scull and will look to defend that title at 9:30am on Friday in the first grand final of the regatta. BU will compete in a six-boat race against Wisconsin, Stanford, Princeton, Oklahoma City University and Gordon College. In 2019, the last time the regatta was held, then freshmen Catharine Griskowitz and Grace Beery cruised to a gold-medal win and the IRA National Championship doubles title with a time of 7:49.64.
In their second and final race of the regatta, BU will compete in a three-boat race for a national title in the varsity four grand final. The Terriers will take on old foes Stanford and Wisconsin beginning at 9:50 a.m. Last time out at IRAs, the Terriers V4 won silver, defeating boats from Wisconsin, Harvard, Georgetown, Princeton and MIT. BU finished second with a time of 7:19.50 behind gold medal-winning Stanford (7:12.84).
"After a year of challenge and uncertainty, I am extraordinarily proud of the tenacity and resilience of the women that will represent BU 130 this weekend in the Lightweight Double and Lightweight Four," said head coach Malcolm Doldron. "We've waited over a year to test our speed against the best in the country, and we look forward to strong competition at the IRA Championship!"
LAST TIME AT IRAs
Overall in 2019, the Terriers won gold (double), silver (varsity four) and bronze (varsity eight) medals, were the only program to medal in all three events, and finished second in team points to IRA National Champion Stanford for the fourth-consecutive year.
A live stream of the lightweight grand finals can be seen HERE beginning at 10:30am.
